    My Favorite Pool Essentials

    July 3, 2017travel

    pool-essentials-flatlay-bare-republic-sunscreen

Whether you’re hanging with your crew sipping rose, or with your main squeeze or by yourself, you can maximize your time in the sun with the right pool essentials.

There is nothing I love more than laying by a pool during the summer. I’m not sure if it’s the warm sun on my skin or the fact that I can take a time out from the world, but I love it, and I seize every opportunity to do so. Since I’m proclaiming myself a pro, I compiled a list of my pool essentials so that you don’t have to get up from your lounge chair, because you look oh-so-good laying there.

    A good sunscreen

I’m obsessed with Bare Republic. Their products are paraben free, anti-oxidant rich and afforable! You can find them at Target. The clear gel sunscreen is a favorite. It glides on smoothly and is absorbed quickly. It is labeled sport because it’s going to last through perspiration and swimming, so throw it in your bag if you’re going to be doing more than laying by the pool! I also love the spray, but you need to make sure to rub it in well. Don’t end up like this family.

    A killer hat

I love my big floppy hat. I found it on a recent trip to T.J. Maxx, and there are so many good ones out there. Generally speaking, hats make such a statement, and hanging by the pool is no exception. Not only will you look super chic, but you’ll also give your face and hair some protection from the sun (still apply sunscreen).  Check out my recommendations below.

    Stunna shades

Is anyone still saying that, or am I dating myself and my college days with that description? Oops! I’m tellin you, if your sunglass game isn’t on point this summer, it’s not too late but you need to get on it! 🙂 I love practical Wayfarers and aviators, but if you usually don’t mix it up when it comes to your eyewear or even your day-to-day wardrobe, maybe test the waters a little bit with some trendy sunglasses. Here’s some inspiration.

    A flattering swimsuit

Everyone needs a swimsuit that looks good on them. And when I say looks good, I don’t necessarily mean what society thinks you should have on. I mean one that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Currently, I feel like a one piece suit has looked great on me so I’ve stayed in that lane. I love how everything feels secure and it gives my no-hip body a little bit of curve. Maybe you feel more confident in a two-piece, tankini, or high-waisted bottom. Whatever the case, rock the hell out of it. Without apologies. Below are some of my favorite one pieces, including mine that’s pictured and the two piece version.

    Good reading material

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good trashy magazine on a flight or by the pool, but it’s nice to change it up and dive into a book. Before you know it, you’ll be done, and you will have learned something. I don’t read often, but when I do, it’s a mixture of romantic fiction, autobiographies, and self-help! I’ve linked a few below that I either have and love, or will be diving into soon!

So many great poolside essentials! Good SPF is key and so is a hat to keep that sun off your face. I also think reading by the pool is one of my favorite summer activities.

      xoxo,

THIS IS OUR YEAR, and I can’t wait to get started! #LevelUpWithKachet #LevelUpShowUp #ThisIsYourYear
Happy first full week of April, y’all. 😁 Maki Happy first full week of April, y’all. 😁 Making a point to celebrate + take a pause from the scroll is part of my biz processes this year and I didn’t even realize a week passed. I never used to stop, which means that I was going forth with blinders on + getting caught up in comparison, for better and for worse. I have to be honest, even with the absence on Instagram, the business activity didn’t stop! In fact, here’s what went down in the past five days:

▪️The Level Up + Show Up Challenge went down via email + Facebook. See ya, IG!
▪️I booked two Strategy Sessions for April.
▪️I put the finishing touches on the new Level Up With Kachet...DOORS OPENING THIS WEEK. Y’all ready?!
▪️My team + I turned a gifted offer from a brand into a paid one with ONE email. My #CoachKach advice: Stop saying yes (or no) off the bat. Open up the conversation to see what can happen.
▪️I beat my Q1 income goal by 25%, which made me adjust my quarterly goals for the rest of the year.

Sometimes you just need a win to get fired up and re-focused.

Sometimes you need to put that scary number out there to see if you can make it happen.

Knowing that I did when half of the time I was weary, lost + fighting to show up in all areas, it affirms that I am made to do this. It shows me that there is a bigger plan for me, so long as I show up.

Perfection is not required. Effort is.

That’s the energy I’m taking into April and the rest of the year. I’m going to reach higher. I’m probably going to squirm, sweat and scream while doing so, but I’m here for all the smoke that comes with it.

What are you going to reach higher for? And how can I help? Let’s 👏🏾Get 👏🏾It!
#LevelUpShowUp
You work hard, lady — schedule a breather this w You work hard, lady — schedule a breather this week and treat yo’self! It doesn’t have to be for the whole day. Heck, five minutes will do the trick.

I hadn’t taken myself out for a coffee date in a while so I made it happen. But for you, it could be:

▪️A coffee without your phone in hand
▪️A walk around the block
▪️A bubble bath
▪️A call with a loved one.

This isn’t the first time I’ve said this, and it won’t be the last. Count on that! 😁

Curious about my look? Well, my love for polka dots is coming back! I’m rockin more classics from @appleseeds, including the Dennisport Twill Chinos with this shirt. I plan to wear it with shorts + skirts this spring, too. That’s why I love classic pieces so much. You can remix them in whatever way you feel like depending on the mood.

A classic — and taking a moment to celebrate you — will never go out of style. Click the link in my profile to check out all of my Appleseed’s picks this season, + comment below 👇🏾and tell me what you’re going to do for yourself this week!

Stepping into a new week after a quiet weekend! Ho Stepping into a new week after a quiet weekend! How y’all doin? Today is the first day of the #LevelUpShowUp challenge, so I’m here to share a little bit about me + The Kachet Life since others will be doing the same 🥳.

I’m Kachet, pronounced “cashay” ans I’m a content creator, creative community organizer, business coach, and marketing consultant. 🙌🏾 Multi-passionate creators, unite!

Last year I decided to fuse my decade of marketing + branding expertise and years of honing my craft as an influencer to teach other creative women how to market themselves + scale their businesses! I do this through one-on-one coaching and group programs, where I give my clients clear, easy-to-follow action-oriented steps on how to make their dreams reality. 👩🏾‍💻✨

Now a little less biz:
I’m a Leo + Enneagram 4 (helluva combo). I love wine, oysters, a good long drive with even better company, and if I can get all three then I’m the happiest lady in the world.

And one thing not many people know: My name was almost Nia. I can’t lie at how much easier I think my life would be with a short, simple name but then people would probably think my name was Mia and I’d hate that. 🤣 Ha!

Now, tell me something about you! Do you know your enneagram number? Did you have or almost have a different name? I love to know! 🤗
