OMG, it has taken me waaaaay too long to get this up. I’m still on such a high from attending NYFW. It was EVERYTHING. I shared a TON on Instagram while I was there, but I wanted to create some formal content here on the blog. This will be part of a multiple post content series surrounding NYFW 2018. After months of planning, my friend Ruthie and I were able to attend together thanks to our friends at Alaska Airlines. It was a dream come true and to make the dream even sweeter, we were able to bring our photographer and beloved friend Mae along with us. She captured every moment and I can’t believe it was her first NYFW! She NAILED IT! We made the best trio and I know we will do it again.
There are so many layers to fashion week, and being that the landscape has changed with the rise of bloggers and social media influencers, there is really something for everyone. The designer collections were fantastic, the attendees were dressed to the nines and even with the weather being a pain, it was such a great time to connect with other bloggers and creatives.
Without further ado, here are some snaps from NYFW 2018 with some notes from yours truly!
We went to a handful of shows while we were in town! Each experience was totally unique and I have to say, the collections did not disappoint.
The Nolcha Accessories preview allowed us to see shoe, jewelry, and handbag collections, with the designers right there to tell us about their brands and answer all questions that Ruthie and I had.
The Oxford Fashion Studio show shared multiple designers in one show. I was blown away by the use of color (neon specifically) and the ultra-feminine details of chiffon, taffeta, and satin.
The Academy of Art show did not disappoint. The one in SF is always a highly talked about event, and it was so cool to see the school at NYFW> I love the creativity and risks the students show in their work. These designers are the next big thing! Seriously.
I was so excited to see Nonie at NYFW 2018, especially since the Dutchess of Sussex (my girl crush) has been spotted wearing the designer. The Nonie show was a fine display of minimalistic elegance. I want the sheer trench, please. 🙂
We were SO excited for this show and it did not disappoint. Ruby Fang brought out the elegance with fringe, lace, feathers, and beading. The experience was enhanced by the big brass band music that went with the show. It’s like we were instantly transported to the streets of New Orleans!
You know I’ve worked with Alaska Air in the past, and most recently Ruthie and I were their Weekend Wanderers so we were thrilled to work with them on this trip to NYFW. We flew on their direct red-eye flight out of SFO, which was very convenient. We ran into zero traffic on the way to the airport!
I love partnering with Alaska Air because they are not only a comfortable and reliable airline, but their team members go above and beyond to ensure that every flight is memorable and you are treated exceptionally well! The in-flight experience is awesome, with free movies and entertainment, power outlets at every seat from First Class all the way to coach, free messaging on a mobile device as well as delicious food offerings! I was able to get so much done on the return flight home!
Alaska Air offers the most nonstop flights from the West Coast to US and international destinations than any other airline. Additionally, with 15 airline partners, they can take their guests to over 900 destinations around the world! Who’s ready to explore? If you’ve never traveled with Alaska, what are you waiting for? Plan your next trip here!
Look for more posts in my NYFW content series coming your way soon! xo

I am always amazed at the fashion at these events and often wonder if people actually wear them in real life.

Loved the photos of the fashion. Thanks for sharing can’t wait for the next blog.
Thank you so much for coming out and supporting our designers and posting about the shows. You have no idea how much it means to them and to us. xo – The Riviere Agency Team
