Duuude. How is it March already? We are almost done with Q1 of 2017 and while we have plenty of time left to conquer the year, we need to get to it. This month is going to be a busy one for me and I can hardly wait. I am really looking forward to building off of the momentum I gained at Alt Summit, and really prioritize what is important to me.
Next week I along with one of my beloved creative partners are attending the Sac Addy awards. We submitted some things we worked on together last year. I can’t wait to see where we placed. I have been freelance for almost two years and it’s really cool to potentially be a winner as an independent contractor and not part of a big agency.
The next day, I’m going to be hosting a panel at the Greater Sacramento Urban League Young Professional Western Region Empowerment Summit about building your personal brand. No matter your industry, everyone needs an elevator pitch! I believe making a first impression is VITAL to success in developing new friendships and solidifying professional connections so I can’t wait to share tips and tricks that I learned along the way.
Fast forward to next month and you’ll find me at Macy’s “Say Yes to Prom” event at Roseville on Saturday the 18th styling some lovely models. Got a teen in your life? You don’t want to miss it. There will be beauty demos, tasty treats and if you buy your prom dress that day, you’ll get 20% off. Boom.
On top of all of that, I’ll have my regular client work, blog work, and I’m also going to be working my butt off in preparation to launch my new project, The Blog Bloc.
New project? Yes. Blog? Yes. But it’s so much more than that.
This is not a replacement for The Lipstick Giraffe. In fact, this has very little to do with me at all. This is for bloggers, content creators and influencers in the Sacramento to grow together. We all have our different talents, our different niches, and follower demos, but where we intersect is a beautiful place. I’ve been wanting to start something for years and after Alt Summit, I said to myself, “What are you waiting for?” and started the Instagram account. It’s taking a lot to get this thing launched by April, but I’ll tell you what, now that I’ve set a deadline, it’s gotta happen. Stay tuned for the official launch and party to celebrate! Looking ahead, there will be bi-weekly strategy sessions, monthly mixers, and quarterly learning events. I can hardly wait. Want more information on our launch? Sign up here for the newsletter.
Leave what you’re going to be busy doing in the comments and let’s hold each other accountable.
Cheers to a great month! I appreciate you. xo
