Someone recently told me that I make things look so easy, and that statement caught me a bit off guard. I guess that’s the magic of the internet, right? I’m here to tell you working toward goals – of any type – is not easy. It takes work, it takes intention, and it takes accepting the fact that perfection has to go out the window. The journey can be messy in order for you to get closer to what you want. The lesson is in the journey. The journey becomes power, so if you’re reading this looking for a quick solution, I’m here to tell you to get in it for the long game.
Everyone has their own secret sauce when it comes to reaching goals. While the sauce always “tastes a little different” (just like a homemade recipe), I definitely have my “ingredients” for making sure I stay on track, especially when it comes to reaching my 2019 goals of a living a healthier lifestyle. I’ve been able to share some of my journey with you thanks to my friends at Chase Freedom Unlimited, so I wanted to let you in on some healthy lifestyle secrets that kept me on track while I battled the temptress that was summer.
I’m not a shy person but no matter your personality type, it can be a little intimidating to share the changes that are happening in your life. I’ve been leaning in to those who seem to be more conscious of their lifestyle choices for support, advice, and recommendations. It even helps me to share with and seek advice from a wider audience! Talking about the process of changing my lifestyle has not only helped me stay accountable, but it has also inspired others to evaluate their choices and see if they need to make any adjustments for themselves. Pretty soon, I’m going to be gathering people together for a group fitness activity. Stay tuned!
Look, I love going out to enjoy happy hour as much as the next person, but what I don’t love is the aftereffect of overindulging. While treating yourself is essential, I’ve gotten much more satisfaction by controlling the environment a bit and bringing it home!
