If you were following along on Twitter and Instagram, you know that I just had a jam packed few days in LA at BlogHer 16! It was an unforgettable experience where I met so many amazing people and learned a lot from various experts in different areas of blogging and media. Get ready for some fun developments on TLG!
If you’ve never been to a blogging conference before, I’d say it’s a lot like any other conference: You’re there because you’re drinking the same Kool-Aid as everyone in attendance and want to learn something new and network with other like minded individuals. The difference at a blog conference is that often times it will be like a party with copious amounts of food and beverage, and party favors in the form of swag (that reveal is to come). I went down there not knowing a soul and just soaked it all in (and drank it all down). When I did manage to take photos, some of the moments I froze with a photo are below for your to enjoy!
My Day 1 look! Comfy yet chic.
The Expo Hall was HUGE. This was one out of several rows. Sponsors of the event were there to sample items, do product demos, and provide information – and this was all in addition to the generous swag bag!
Learned a lot about Herbalife, got some shake mix and bar samples as well as a notebook and new selfie stick! After trying one of the shakes this morning, I need them in my routine STAT.
Bush’s Beans is now making DIY Hummus packets with their cans of Garbanzo Beans. In addition to info and coupons, they had an adult coloring station. Wine was being served in various corners of the entire Expo Hall with small bites.
Sheryl Crow’s lunch keynote was candid and personal. Love her philosophy with raising conscious kids and putting self first after her health scare.
People taking photos of Kim Kardashian West as she graced the stage.
BlogHer and SheKnows got a lot of flack for having her, but to be honest, she had a lot to offer in terms of business, collaborating with other celebs/brands and how she works hard to keep her home life with her kids as private as possible.
Aldi‘s Sponsor Suite, all in celebration of their Little Journey’s product launch. No little one’s over here, but from my “Auntie Knowledge,” after reading the labels, the products are pretty great and the price is even better! Come to Northern California!
I’m going to need my friend Jayme to help recreate this in the future. Look at these beautiful paper flowers!
Young Living‘s Sponsor Suite had a photo booth and DIY body scrub station with essential oils.
Stirring up my magical scrub with citrus and rose!
I entered a contest the day before at eBay Partner Network’s booth and WON! Check out my new Ray-Ban Polarized Wayfarers!
The closing keynote was amazing. Jess Weiner did a great job moderating. Matt McGorry, Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Heather Hardy led a very open conversation about feminism and the fight for girls everywhere.
I’ve had the pleasure of hearing Jurnee speak TWICE this year and she has been authentic and raw both times. I really appreciated her presence at the conference, and even more so that she held my hand as she told me she was wearing Stila Stay All Day. Get it, y’all! I have heard about this more than once.
And my Day 2 look: Stitch Fix shift dress with a Zara tie front blouse over it. Kenneth Cole wedges from Off5th!
I can hardly wait for next year! I’ll be sharing some other thoughts on the conference over the next couple of weeks. If you have any questions in the meantime, please leave them in the comments! I would LOVE to share specifically what you WANT to know. 🙂
