There are so many great places to visit just a short drive from Sacramento! Just fifteen miles north of downtown, you’ll arrive in the city of Woodland. Get off of I-5 at the Main Street exit, take a left and in a mile, you’ll arrive at the “main” Main Street area of Downtown Woodland, with many unique shops, restaurants, and cafes.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram and watching my stories this summer, you’ll know I’ve been spending a considerable amount of time there. That’s because I’ve been working just a block from Main Street since May! It’s been a rewarding experience and I’m glad that I took the opportunity when it came by. While Woodland is close to Sacramento, it can feel like you’ve actually gone on vacation when you’re there. The best part is that you’re just 30 minutes away from home and can sleep in your own bed when the day ends 🙂 Road trips to towns in the areas that surround Sacramento have been my favorite lately. If that sounds like you but you haven’t made it to Woodland yet, I have ask you, “Well, what are you waiting for?” You can no longer say “I didn’t know where to go,” because I’m sharing some suggestions now!
I have definitely declared some places “my spots” and I’m excited to share them with you.
This cute shop focuses on helping you curate specialty gifts, plants, and vintage home decor. A Well Stocked Home has been my go-to spot for gifts, but I have to admit, I always end up leaving with a couple of things for myself too.

Right next door you’ll find Haven. This women’s clothing store had the most adorable items! They specialize in helping you create a unique, authentic style. What makes this spot special? They stock jewelry made by local artists and have amazing accessories. I purchased a Michael Stars dress there on my last visit, along with these game-changing support cups. I’ve been wearing them like they’re going out of style.

Scribbler’s Coffeehouse is a new addition to Downtown Woodland and they serve Chocolate Fish Coffee, Rishi Organic Tea, local beer & wine, and various food options. They have shelves full of books, games, and a really great ambiance. A good spot to sit and recharge and refuel in between shopping the shops.

There are a few other favorite spots of mine to share, and still SO MANY to uncover! This will get updated over time. 🙂
Savory Cafe: They serve traditional American breakfast and lunch but with an added twist. With a rotating menu, it’s a restaurant that will never get old and they are the nicest people.
Kitchen428 Restaurant: The crab cakes and fish tacos are so so good. The 428 Burger is pretty epic and you’ll want to get the fries. Eating a little lighter? Their Caesar salad (add salmon) is a fav.
The Nest: This home decor store in addition to selling vintage home decor, they also offer workshops teaching you how to chalk painting or how to make wreaths.
Burger Saloon: So many different burger options, but I like the fact that I can make it a little healthier with the “burger bowl” option. We also can’t miss giving their tagline some love: Where Woodland Meats. Love it! haha
Morgan’s on Main: The Fried Chicken Sandwich doesn’t disappoint. It’s a must-try!
Morgan’s Mill: Another great coffee shop in town. Get a waffle. Trust me on this. It doesn’t matter if it’s savory or sweet. You’ll be glad you did. Yes, same “Morgan’s”
Las Brasas: The Super Burrito is sooo good!
Blue Note Brewing: This nano-brewery has twelve beers on tap and is the perfect spot for your craft beer-loving friends.
Exploring Downtown Woodland was fun! I can’t wait to hear how your adventures in Woodland unfold. Local or explorer, please feel free to drop your suggestions and recommendations in the comments.
Happy Trails!
