Just another reason to love Alaska Airlines! On our way home from NYFW, Ruthie, Mae and I had the chance to check out Alaska’s newest lounge at JFK Airport. Not going to lie, I had never been to a lounge at an airport until this experience. With how much I travel, it was time to make a new tradition! I was so excited to check out the Alaska Lounge, especially since it is was a few months old, and because we had been on the go nonstop during our fashion week adventures and this was going to be a nice break. The lounge is ultra modern with a touch of home. Luxurious without trying too hard. My kind of place!
The Alaska Lounge offers a complimentary food and salad bar which includes, salads and soups (breakfast in the morning). If you are looking for something a little heartier, they have a food menu with delicious fare. I had the kimchi chicken bowl and it was delicious!
If you need to get some work done, there are multiple seating options for the road warrior. I had the most fun working in one of the “pods” as I like to call them. The seats are like a cocoon that are perfect for busting out the laptop or taking a quick call.
My other favorite feature? The bar area! Whenever CJ and I decide to put some roots somewhere, I want the tile backsplash in my house! By being a guest at the Alaska Lounge, you are able to enjoy a wide selection of microbrews, wines and cocktails from the swanky bar inside the lounge, all complimentary. Seriously, it doesn’t get better than that, and I had a rosé, or two. 🙂
Here are some pictures of the Alaska Lounge! I’m sorry if they induce FOMO.
The Alaska Lounge is located on the mezzanine level of Terminal 7 at JFK. If you’re flying first class, you automatically receive complimentary admission, but you have the option to purchase a day pass and experience all of the amenities! Not flying through JFK? No problem. There are Alaska Lounges in Anchorage, LA, Portland, and Seattle (Alaska’s hub). I would totally recommend it to get some work done, enjoy a bite, rest and restore, and maybe make a new friend! Can’t wait to return for some pre-flight R&R! 🙂
