Whole Foods Beauty Week + My Beauty Picks

    March 16, 2018beauty, fashion

I don’t know about you, but I can’t go inside a Whole Foods Market store without spending some time in the beauty aisles. Many of my skin and hair care staples have been discovered there, and I’m so honored to be the #CleanBeauty ambassador for Whole Foods Market Northern California this spring, in honor of their Beauty Week sale!

From March 21 to 27, all makeup, facial care, hair care, nail polish and makeup brushes will be 25% off. Mark your calendars now because you don’t want to miss it! The sale includes products from Alba, Dr. Hauschka, evanhealy, Mineral Fusion, MyChelle, Trilogy and more. It’s a great time to take advantage of some significant savings on some great natural beauty brands.

About Whole Foods’ and Natural Beauty

Being totally transparent, I didn’t start paying attention to what goes in my beauty products until the past six months. I was excited to learn that Whole Foods Market is as mindful of what goes on our bodies as much as what goes in them. Did you know that Whole Foods bans more than 100 ingredients found in conventional body care products, including phthalates, microbeads, triclosan, BHT, and BHA? You can read more about their standards here. To maintain its natural beauty promise, Whole Foods Market created its own standards for organic labeling on personal care products, as there are no mandatory government standards for “organic” claims in the body care industry. Knowledge is power, so I encourage you to read the labels on the products you have at home to see what’s in them. Some claims may surprise you.

    My Beauty Picks

Because I’ve been exploring more natural beauty options, it’s a thrill to have my Beauty Picks featured on shelf talkers in Whole Foods Market stores across the Sacramento region. Yes, if you go to a store right now, you’ll see my face and the products I love! Please take a selfie with them, and then read about them! If you have any questions about my picks or any other products, you’ll be happy to know that beauty specialists are on hand to help you with anything you need. Ask about ingredients, allergens, and even their favorite products.

    Juice Beauty Oil Free Moisturizer

    The Full list

    MyChelle Clear Skin Spot Treatment
This is my go-to for blemishes that appear out of nowhere, and usually before I have a big event. 🙂 I apply a thin layer at night and in the morning, it’s dramatically reduced or gone!
    Derma-E Cleansers
I have been using Derma-E cleansers for months. I love how they smell, feel and rinse off. For dry skin cycles, I love the Hydrating Cleanser with Hyaluronic Acid. Right now, I’m loving the Even Tone Brightening Cleanser to keep my skin radiant.
Juice Beauty Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 30
I have combination skin and I get really oily by the end of the day. This moisturizer controls my oil and also gives me great sun protection.
    Acure Mega Moisture
Treat yourself (and your tresses) with Mega Moisture. It’s ultra-hydrating and gives my hair a nice sheen.
    Weleda Almond Soothing Facial Cream
When my skin needs calming, I use this cream. It’s lightly scented and gentle, but rich enough to replenish and balance my skin.
    Andalou Naturals Face Masks
These are great for home and for travel. I use at least one mask a week and keep them on hand to give to my girlfriends, too!
Pacifica Rainbow Crystals Liquid Mineral Strobe Cream
This highlighter gives me life! I like to use it on my face and on my decollete on special occasions.
    Zuzu Luxe Lipgloss in Mischief
I’m a lipstick lady, but I love lip gloss for a fresh and pretty look in spring! Mischief is a color that looks good on all skin tones.

I am so excited for the Beauty Week sale, and even more excited for you to take advantage of the great deals to be had.

In addition to the sale period, on Friday, March 23, stores will offer limited edition beauty bags for $20/each. Curated by the Whole Foods Market beauty team, each bag contains favorites valued at over $100! In case you were wondering, yes, I plan to get my hands on one of them, and I’ll share on Instagram on Friday.  I would love to see what you get, too! 🙂

Thank you for reading and I can’t wait to see what you pick up!

This is the mood I am embodying all week as I talk This is the mood I am embodying all week as I talk back to the mean girl in my own head! That bitch always shows up right when I “get ready” to do something. What about you? Let’s face em together.

There is no right time.
There is no cheat code.
You just have to humble yourself, frickin show up and DO IT.
It can be as fun or regimented as you decide so long as you are moving in a forward direction, a direction that takes you closer to that goal.

Are you waiting for the right time? And no, I’m not asking for a friend. I’m asking for myself. There will be no more ideas living in a notebook until it “feels good.” If it feels good, it ain’t growth or taking US higher!

Celebrate the win in advance if you have to. Whatever gets you going (yes, I believe in dessert first).

WHAT HAS SNOWMAGEDDON TAUGHT ME? That there is po WHAT HAS SNOWMAGEDDON TAUGHT ME?

That there is power in community and Dallas reminds me a lot of Sacramento right now. Shoutout to @dallasites101 for going ALL OUT with their resources.

That love will always save the day and maybe not in the way you think but just in the way you need.

That having no power in or out of unit for days and not being able to leave because the roads are so bad is no fucking joke. Talk about a reality check and gratitude break on so many fronts.

That I really need to get my emergency kit to include “Snowy Conditions” and get a damn shovel + boots. Maybe a truck instead of the Mini? 🚙

Who knew it got like this in Dallas?! 🤯🤯🤯 I didn’t. AT ALL. We’re beyond blessed to have a warm and safe place right now with food, hot water and more.

Prayers up 🙏🏾for everyone that is going through it during this time and for those that still don’t have power, that can’t get to loved ones and those that are having a hard time dealing with this on top of the fact that we’re in a global pandemic. I always say the new year truly starts in February, but it looks like it might be March this time.

I heard it’s going to be 72 and ☀️next week… y’all, I can’t make this stuff up!

Are you affected by the weather?! Where are you located?
#KachetTakesDallas
Happy Monday, y’all! What is going on? Well, her Happy Monday, y’all! What is going on? Well, here are answers to your questions (😆😆):
◾️Yes, it’s snowing in Dallas...it’s 12 degrees right now. And it’s gonna be cold with potentially more snow this week. WTF
◾️We had power but now it’s off again...daytime is okay but night time sucks.
◾️I have on a fleece under here but of course when I posed, the sleeves pulled up in the coat (now I get the thumb hole concept...). I don’t own boots for this so my California is showing! ☀️🕶🌴
◾️ @lifeofrudytheboston HATES it as you can tell from his face...but he managed to run for at least 5 min with a pack of other dogs at the park. Thank the LAWD.
◾️ Being snowed in in a city that doesn’t do snow feels crazy. But it’s kind of nice and this will make a helluva story one day.

How’s your Monday going? Tell me somethin good! 🥶❄️☃️
“But you’re not a designer..” My reply: “S “But you’re not a designer..” My reply: “So?”

I had another influencer tell me that once. 🤷🏾‍♀️ I haven’t ever nor will I claim to be one, but there’s something about personalizing a space and leaving no corner untouched that gives me a rush! And I will share it as long as I feel like it. 🤣 Small spaces are my jam, and in true Thursday fashion, I had to throw it back to the first place that truly got the wheels turning for me!
—
I called it the treehouse because it was on the 2nd floor and it was surrounded by trees! The only drawbacks were street parking, no laundry (fluff + fold, hello!) + the lack of counter space for a chef like me, but I made it work with a piece of wood that cornered the sink as well as a drop leaf table that was attached the wall. This space made it to @apartmenttherapy (linked the feature in my bio if you’re curious) and it affirmed my love of small spaces, as you’ve seen over the years. Fast forward to today — and I’m at it again! I’ve got a living room + bedroom on my hands. One is 50% complete. I’ll be sharing more next week and can’t wait to hear what you think!

What projects are you tackling this year? And what vibe are you trying to evoke? For me, it’s all about luxurious comfort and feeling like I’m on vaca. 🛋🏝😎#AtHomeWithKachet
