The blanket scarf…oh boy. If you could’ve only seen how many times I wrapped this thing around me until I found the right “look,” but it was all for the fashionable good. The blanket scarf is a must have this season in order to look remarkably chic and stay incredibly warm. Here are some tips to style yours.
Jeans and Top: Old Navy (here and here)

My outfit is super casual and laid back. I’m layering because while it’s cooled off here in Sac, the weather fluctuates. It’s freezing in the morning, yet by 2pm a girl sweats a little in her layers walking a couple of blocks. Time to peel one off! 🙂 My blanket scarf from Zara is so incredibly soft and a great buy. I am so excited to have this in the rotation (get yours at the link above). So you wanna pull off the blanket scarf? Start by:
This should be fairly easy. I am trying to buy less (yes, I know – LOL), so I chose a pattern that was pretty neutral so I could get the maximum wear. Into accessorizing? GO CRAY and get the plaid, the striped, the solid – whatever tickles your fancy. Let this drive the color pallette for the rest of your outfit.
What do you have on? If you’re wearing a dress, you may want to wear your scarf differently than if you’re wearing boyfriend jeans like me. I’ve seen the scarf draped over the front of one’s outfit and then belted, and I’ve seen it wrapped around shoulders like a pashmina. In fact, here’s a link to photos and videos of how to get the maximum wear. You’re welcome!
Whether you wrap it around your neck, throw it over your shoulder, or loop it, rock that shit. It’s a bold accessory, a bold and oh so soft one, and it requires some confidence. Keep your shoulders up, head held high and get ready for the flood of compliments. They may sound like “Oh my, I love your scarf!” or “How did you tie that scarf?” Be sure to tell them a little giraffe taught you how. 😉
