For those days when it’s not going to get much better than your jeans and a plain tee, for those days when you need to command a little bit of extra attention, for those days when you ask yourself, “Should I?” Yes, you should. You need a statement jacket. With the change of seasons, bold outerwear is a must, so let’s make a splash.

So you’re probably wondering, “Where did she get that gold jacket?!” I wish I could say I chose this jacket, but it really chose me. Passed down from my cousin, I was told to “never take this to Crossroads!” Well, no problem because it’s just fabulous and it will always be appropriate. A statement jacket is a must have in your closet regardless of the season, no matter if it’s metallic, floral, whatever, because it takes any outfit from drab to fab in seconds. That’s not to say that you can’t wear a statement jacket when you’re decked out underneath, but I know we are all busy people and sometimes that requires more effort than we have.
With this look, I kept accessories to a minimum since the jacket does most of the talking, however, I couldn’t forget a bold lip and recommend you select one, too. Since spring is among us, I encourage you to try out a red, orange or pink!
Why am I using the term statement jacket? Well, let’s look at the definition of statement:
Statement (noun) state·ment /ˈstāt-mənt/: an opinion, attitude, etc., that you express through the things you do, the way you dress, etc.
What stuck out the most to me was the word attitude. You can’t throw on a statement jacket unless you’re going to have a little pep in your step. After all, the world is your runway, so let’s go girls!
