September is here and so is that summer-to-fall transition! Summer may be winding down but the temps are still running high! It’s easy to blame the heat for my apathy regarding putting together a look, but I think it’s just so much easier to just slip on a dress and run out of the door. This shift dress by Bar III screamed at me on a recent trip to Macy’s and I broke my “don’t buy any more dresses” rule for it. The decision was easy and here’s why:

• The color is SUPER transitional. Wear it now and wear it later with some tights, boots, turtleneck underneath, or even a cozy knit sweater over it.
• The cut is flattering. This is a shift dress that works for everyone, I believe. The key is the accessory. If you’re not going to wear a bag that could be crossbody like mine, opt for a lariat necklace, large earrings or even an outer layer – a vest now, and a coat later.
• It has pockets! POCKETS! A dress that has pockets is always a winner in my book.
