Happy short week, everyone! I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend, remembering those who fought to protect our country, and celebrating the unofficial kick off to summer. I want to kick things off by telling you a tale of the ruffle trim romper from Old Navy.
Despite being born in August, I haaaate too much heat. As soon as the temperatures started to rise around here, I made my way to Old Navy. They are my go to for affordable basics across all seasons, and I wanted a few new things to mix with my current summer lineup. After re-upping on some shorts and tees, a simple ruffle trim romper caught my eye that was hanging in the wrong place. I asked the closest sales associate where to find additional sizes, he replied and pointed behind me, “That’s actually in the swim section.”
“Really? In the swim section?” I walked over and low and behold, it was there, in a few different colors and prints.
I talked myself up about how I could dress it up and make it cute in my head, and grabbed the black one in my size. Besides, who would know that this was a swim cover up unless I told them? 😉 That same evening, I wore my favorite tassel accessories and wore the romper to a backyard party, laughing to myself throughout the night. It begged me to remind you all about what you can wear and when.
You can wear whatever you want. When you want. How you want. As many times as you want.
Period.
When I share outfits on the blog, It’s my way of showing my interpretation of a trend, and hopefully that becomes a source of inspiration for you, but it’s merely my opinion, and my mom always used to say, “Opinions are like…” yeah, you know the rest.
Don’t let me or anyone else tell you what you should be wearing. If you feel like wearing a swim cover up to go out on the town, wear it. If you feel like wearing something backwards because it looks cuter that way, go for it. If you feel like mixing a bunch of patterns, do it. It’s all about what makes you feel comfortable and confident. And this ruffle trim romper checked both boxes for me.

Wow, this is such a cute romper and yes, I would probably wear it over my swim suit, but that’s because I am over 50 – lol
Love it very cute and I never would have guessed this romper is swim suit cover-up! Love how its fun and flirty
I absolutely LOVED this!! I think I’m my biggest critic when it comes to what I think I can or can not wear, and I simply loved your “you can wear what you want, when you want, and whenever you want” I needed to hear that.
