I’m excited to share my Sunday skincare routine with you. After I shared a crazy masked picture of me on my Instagram stories, I polled my audience to see if they wanted to know all of the products I used. So, I showed them and now I’m showing you!
I’m in my early-emerging-mid thirties and I don’t have any time to waste when it comes to my “preserving the sexy”. Beyond us all having an abundance of time these days, it’s nice to be dedicated to me, myself and I at the moment. Just us. A time to reflect and honor the woman that I am.
Ladies, when we’re running late out of the door, or even running past our bedtimes, it can be easy to skip steps, find a shortcut and get back on to bigger things. Not when it comes to a Sunday skincare routine. I’ll ask the question if you say why not? Well, what’s more important than you? When you’re handling this kind of business, you’re already looking in the mirror, so tell yourself you’re beautiful and let’s get ready for pampering.
To make the most out of my Sunday skincare routine, I get really excited leading up to it. I like to close my eyes and take the extra thirty seconds to glide the cleanser across my face, getting every pore around my nose and chin. The same applies when it comes to gently applying my eye cream. I’m a person that savors the act of completing something, so by the time I get to the last step in my skincare routine, it’s like the victory lap of a race against no one. I love it.
My routine takes about 40 minutes, including the time it takes for all of the products to stay on my face. Have you ever timed yours? Here are the steps I take once a week.
One must begin their Sunday skincare routine with a clean palette, and because I have combination skin, I need a cleanser that cleanses well enough to remove excess oil and debris without stripping my skin. I’ve been really happy using Juice Beauty’s Stem Cellular 2-in-1 Cleanser for the past couple of months. Insert Proof Point
Before I was using Juice Beauty’s cleanser, I was using Recharge by Rodan + Fields for about three months and was impressed, too.
I bounce between products when it comes to my weekly treatment, but the one I reach for the most has been another amazing Juice Beauty product: Green Apple Sensitive Skin Peel. It helps even tone with organic alpha hydroxy acids of malic acid from green apples to reduce dark spots and reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation. You leave it on your skin for 10 minutes before rinsing with warm water, and you can use it up to two times a week. I just stick to Sundays. My other favorite is Rodan & Fields’ Microdermabrasion Paste. It’s a sugar and salt-based scrub that effectively removes dead skin cells for brighter skin.
I’m so greedy, I use two! This is definitely not a must, but both masks serve very different functions, and I had been going through a bout of dryness. I’ve used Dermalogica for years, and one product that has been my fav for the past year is the Multivitamin Power Recovery Mask. It fights free radicals, fine lines and is full of vitamins. I kept the mask party going by using a sheet mask by Trish McEvoy. The Instant Solutions Dry Sheet Mask, A dry sheet mask is such a different experience, but provides a rush of moisture and sends waves of hyaluronic acid, peptides, and antioxidants to the skin.
Before moisturizing, I add a serum or skin treatment. Most recently I’ve been using Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair, a classic luxury skincare product that improves skin texture, tone and fights fine lines. Other treatments I love are Dermalogica’s Phyto-Nature Firming Serum, Peptide Booster by Paula’s Choice, and LiftActiv Vitamin C Brightening Skin Corrector by Vichy.
I start the moisturizing process with Juice Beauty’s Vinifera Replenishing Oil. It is the best and gives me a radiant glow. If I am absolutely not leaving the house, I will sometimes wear this on my skin alone when I’m giving myself a makeup break. Speaking of makeup, it is also a good primer. But, back to finishing out my skincare evening. Adding eye cream and night cream is next. While I still have some of my trial-sized version of Estee Lauder’s Re-Nutriv Ultimate Diamond Transformative Energy Eye Cream, it’s at the top of the list. It’s a splurge, for sure but gives incredible results. I’ve also used Dermalogica’s Stress Positive Eye Lift and Juice Beauty’s Stem Cellular Eye Cream. Both have a tip that allows for gentle application!
I’ve gone ahead and linked up all of the products I’ve mentioned for an easy shoppable experience. If you’re looking for a new routine or want to introduce a fun new product in the mix, click a bit, and read up on each product to find the combination right for you. Have questions? Shoot me a note through the contact form!
I’d love to learn what steps you take to pamper yourself before the new week gets going. Have a good one!
