Since speaking my goal of living a healthier lifestyle into the universe, I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how easy it has been to shift my mindset surrounding the necessary actions to make sure I stay on track! In the past, I’ve created these lofty goals for myself (haven’t we all?), and for some of them I’ve been able to make progress for a week or two, then, as if no change had ever occurred, I’d go back to my regularly scheduled programming and forget I’d even made the promise to myself.
But, this time, small bite-sized steps in my self-care plan have made it easier to keep track of all of my strides toward a healthy lifestyle. Living a healthier lifestyle really encompasses whole body wellness, and this past month, I’ve placed an emphasis on what it takes for my mental and spiritual health to be at its peak. I’m the person that needs to connect with like-minded individuals, but also be introduced to new ways of thinking.
A Focus on Wellness
A lot of great opportunities have come my way this month, making it easy to get my mental and spiritual health on track. In June alone, I had three speaking engagements, one great broadcast opportunity (I’ll be able to share more soon), and the ability to spend time with some amazing individuals.
One of these events was an opportunity to moderate a roundtable on understanding whole body wellness. I facilitated an open discussion surrounding what wellness means, personal journeys towards wellness and self-care, and how those experiences affect different areas of our lives. Prior to the roundtable, all of the participants were invited to attend a special event at a local athletic apparel store, where we were able to pick out an outfit to wear to the event and learn more about the company.
I have never felt so good in athleisure before, and I took full advantage of their latest and greatest collection during the event. Since I’m making a concerted effort to be more active, I purchased the new gear with my Chase Freedom Unlimited cash back credit card. It’s All About Balance
Another part of my healthy lifestyle and self-care plan is connection and community, but balance plays a huge role in making sure my need for connection stays healthy. We don’t want this turning into a consistently overcommitted situation. Right now, I’m feeling the effects of saying yes to too many things, and it’s time to slow down just a little bit. It’s time to reflect on what’s happened this year – personally and professionally – and fine-tune my plan to make 2019 my best year yet.
Reflection is such an important part of the journey. Sometimes we can get so caught up in doing that we lose sight of how far we’ve come and where we want to go. Knowing Chase Freedom Unlimited will support all of the “unexpected” twists and turns along the way and help me keep earning on all my small purchases, puts my mind at ease.
