    Fall Essentials from Garnet Hill

    October 22, 2020fashion, lifestyle

This year’s autumn feels especially magical if you live in a city with a lot of trees. The mornings have a crisp coolness. The leaves are dancing down the street with the wind – and with all of those little things that mean the seasons have in fact changed, I am getting so much inspiration for how I want my fall to feel, and also how I want to look during.

I don’t know about you, but I am leaning into warm neutrals with bold solids. I am still spending the majority of time at home, but staying in sweatpants all day doesn’t serve my productivity or confidence very well, so I make it a point to get dressed as many days of the week as possible.

The Fall collection from Garnet Hill is full of cozy basics to elevate your wardrobe this season. If you want comfort without sacrificing quality, pieces from Garnet Hill are just what you’ve been looking for. I’ve been a fan of their sweaters for years, and they are perfect for layering. Clothing aside, I also love that they take social responsibility seriously, including being members of Social Accountability International, an organization that strives to advance human rights in workplaces globally.

Here are a couple of my favorite pieces from the brand with some styling tips for each of them!

Fall Layering Essentials from Garnet Hill

The Textured Cocoon Sweater is a fall and winter essential that you need to add to your closet immediately! I have struggled to find a cocoon sweater that was in my size and didn’t make me look bigger than I am. The cut of this sweater still allows me to have the oversized look without swallowing up my shape!

This is a great everyday (and Zoom friendly) outfit. I’ve paired the sweater with the Essential Slim Cord Pants in Dark Burgundy and the Flutter Sleeve Knit Blouse in Brick to really lean in to  warm, spicy neutrals. The blouse and pants work well as an outfit on its own so this is a great one to wear if it’s going to be a chilly morning but eventually warm up.

You can add some fun to the outfit with the Adrian Pointed Ballet Flats, and as the weather cools, a leather boot like the Riley Heeled Buckle Boot (you’ll see a peek of them below)

    The Two-Piece To Die For

This Two-Piece Sweater Set is a game changer! Yes, it’s sold as a set because it’s that good. It’s not just an incredible value, but together they make such a bold statement. The set is made of a wool-linen blend and each piece can be worn so many ways on their own!

The sweater is the perfect length for tucking into a pair of jeans, a pleated skirt, or leggings. Throw on a vest or a trench coat for an extra layer. The neckline allows you to layer necklaces or pair a necktie with it. It’s lightweight, but it’s heavy enough to stand on its own to keep you warm. When the temps rapidly, you could layer with a flannel or add a scarf for added warmth.

The skirt is perfect with ANYTHING you have in your closet. Seriously, a turtleneck, a tee-shirt, a blazer, even the Textured Cocoon Sweater!  The possibilities are seriously endless. I’m obsessed with the Gold Medallion color, but the set also comes in Deep Mahogany and Black.

These pieces are so well made, I know they are going to be part of my wardrobe for many seasons to come. That’s why it’s important to invest in some pieces for your wardrobe every season. You’ll find that you will purchase less in the future because you’re getting so much wear out of what you have. That also allows you to be creative with accessories like scarves and jewelry to really let your personal style shine through.

I hope this served as an inspiration to refresh your fall wardrobe with some key pieces this season. I’m looking forward to sharing how I remix these items in the coming weeks, so be sure you’re following me on Instagram so you don’t miss it!

Disclaimer: This post is in collaboration with Garnet Hill, who gifted me with the pieces in this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that support the blog.

#CoachingFromCancun is a thing. Well, it was two w #CoachingFromCancun is a thing. Well, it was two weeks ago! 👩🏾‍💻And I think we should go back (retreat anyone?). But let me tell you, while I mixed this time in during my week long vacation, being a digital nomad has been on my bucket list for a while. The “workcation” is real and I’m here to tell you, it doesn’t take away from the experience of unplugging and recharging.

It’s a decision that I worked toward.

A decision that came from consistency, planning and a little bit of “what the heck?” The feeling of freedom that comes with a decision like that is fleeting.

This is the kind of freedom and flexibility I promise to my clients.

The confidence and the clarity to build the business you want.

Wanna work remotely in beautiful destinations? Awesome.

Wanna work only 20 hours a week and still be profitable? Let’s get the plan in motion.

Want to have a personal brand that opens doors that you didn’t even know were there? Yeah, they’re out there. Let’s find them!

The thing about it is — doing what everyone else is doing isn’t the path to get there. Blueprints are great and helpful, but it starts with the inner brand work as a creative professional!

Have you been wanting to explore what’s possible for your brand? I haven’t done this in a while, but I’m opening the books for three 1:1 strategy sessions before May wraps up. I feel the energy of possibility in the air and know you feel it, too. Let’s chat - send me a DM and I’ll share all the info.
