Do you have a space in your house that just irks you a little bit? Maybe you wish it was a different size, or maybe it’s simply a space that you just don’t know what to do with. If that’s you, I can SO relate! There was a corner of our home that has been bugging me since we moved in, and thanks to my friends at Joss + Main, we were able to find the perfect solution for that pesky corner in our living room: a butterfly chair, with a few other “co-stars.”
It’s a corner on the far side of our living/dining room on the main level of our townhome. The focal points of the room are the couch and the dining table on size alone. Each “corner” has had something that hasn’t been changed, except for this one. We’d done a couple of things with it, including a pop of color with a mid-century style armchair, but once Rudy came into the picture, we realized it wasn’t a good use of the tiny space and its structure was competing with the couch.
Now, my first instinct was to find a velvet chair, but velvet is where my fiance CJ draws the line, so trying to keep his taste in mind coupled with our (semi) recent move to Texas, I went for a western take with the Loveta Butterfly Chair in the tan leather. The stitching reminds me of a saddle and I love it. I hadn’t seen a butterfly chair in years and its unconventional structure is supportive and chic. Plus, it’s size allows for Rudy to crawl under it for a little hiding spot. Speaking of Rudy, he is the reason why we opted for the height of the Sherline Wood End Table. He is getting more and more curious by the day and has now taken a liking to my glasses and mugs so this was a must.
Even though I had just furniture for us to enjoy, I was impressed with the variety of furniture and miscellaneous items for pets on the website so we decided to get Rudy the Charlie Dog Bed in Emerald. Now, he can plop down and see “all of the action” while staying close to his favorite window for some sun.
Now, this is one of our favorite spots to sit and have a coffee in before the day gets going. The orange throw and pillow on the chair allow for extra comfort, and we grabbed those on Joss & Main’s site, too!
I’m so happy we were able to find all of the pieces within one store. It was super easy to favorite our items before buying, too. I don’t know about you, but I have to “sleep on it” before I make a decision like this! I’m glad we made this one. The best part was that it all arrived at my door even earlier than expected with the estimated shipping time.
If there’s a corner in your house that’s irking you, or you need to grab some accent furniture, throws, or other items to make your home even cozier this holiday, be sure to check out jossandmain.com because you just might find your new favorite pieces there!
Now, on to the next thing: wall art for this side of the room. Stay tuned…
