To me, there is something about a sunny day in San Francisco. Maybe I get nostalgic from when I lived there, but it is magical. I think it’s because, in summer, the high temperature hardly gets above 60 degrees, and like clockwork, Karl comes rolling in around 3 pm. The city is my home away from home. If I’m not working down there, I love to go back and visit to spend time at my favorite restaurants and bars and see my work framily, or escape with my girls or CJ.
My last trip to the city was with Ruthie and Melinda and it was a blast. Also, it’s worth noting that my obsession with ruffles has continued and blossomed there. This fabulous print comes in a few different pieces, but this belted ruffle dress from the Who What Wear Collection won me over. I didn’t even realize that Ruthie had it in the opposite print until we were shooting with Rachel (check out her version here)!
Here’s why I chose the belted ruffle dress over the other options, and why you can wear it year round:
The ruffles aren’t intense; they are fun and flirty. The dress is short. You can’t deny that.
Sleeves! Yes, and they are flared, too. Sleeves are accepted year-round and the thought of layering this baby makes me excited. Can’t you see the dress with tights, booties and a leather jacket? I can!
This dress is definitely eye catching, but depending on your height, it’s subtle enough to wear to the office or an event where you are not the center of attention. 😉 Florals are in, they have been in, and will be for a while. Stock up, sweetie! I’ve linked the blouse in this print below, too. Wear that with some cute cigarette pants and a loafer mule.
