Sometimes the most simple of outfits seem to be the ones that garner the most attention. During the photo shoot, I received so many compliments from those passing by. Maybe it was a nice distraction as people braved the Lyon Street stairs. Either way, I was grateful and it added a little pep in my step! I love elevated basics! I live for a shirt dress, and I live for the perfect oversized item, too. I found this hybrid on ASOS and thought it was the PERFECT shirt dress for summer.
At the suggestion of my cousin, I also ordered this satin headwrap that is SO fun! I plan to wear this a lot more on cooler summer days because since I’ve transitioned to this hairstyle, I need all of the ventilation! 😉 I never thought of wearing the two together until I took them out of the packaging, and then I decided to make it funky (yes, I said that. Hopefully James Brown is proud) and add some sneakers. Adidas are back in a major way, and I’ve worn mine with an outfit that is dainty, and one that was a little sporty. CJ bought me a new pair recently and I thought this was the perfect time for them to make their debut!
If we’re talking classics, a white sneaker is the way to go, whether or not it’s by Adidas. You cannot wear a crisp look like this without a clean, white sneaker. While there is official sneaker cleaner you can use, I like to use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser! I start with the sole and use the corner to spot clean any spots on the upper part of the shoe.
