I tried oysters for the first time at 11 years old. I was at my mother’s company brunch and I almost lost my mind when I saw the tower of seafood at one of the stations. My mom was skeptical, giving me the lowdown on the texture and taste and warned me that I might not like them. Well, she was wrong. He he
There are many places to enjoy oysters in Sacramento, but my favorite restaurant to enjoy them is Allora. Located in East Sacramento right on Folsom Boulevard, Allora showcases local ingredients with the spirit of Italy in their dishes. Chef Deneb Williams and Sommelier Elizabeth-Rose Mandalou (also married 🙂 ) have created magic with Allora, combining their love for Italian culture and their home base of Sacramento to bring a truly unique dining experience for us all to enjoy.
Oysters are always on the menu at Allora, but their $1 Oysters on Tuesdays (until they run out) pull me in often because let’s be real, I could enjoy dozens of oysters on my own. With National Oyster Day knocking on our doors, they have pulled out all the stops on the different types of oysters they are offering!
My friend Maria and I were able to come in to learn about (and by learn, I mean, enjoy) the special oysters that are available right now, and in celebration of National Oyster Day!
These options are available through August 5th
Learn more about Allora by visiting their website, and be sure to follow their latest happenings on Instagram. That’s where I usually find out about all of the events and specials 🙂
