Ageless Style: Mixing Prints and Bold Color

the kachet life on good day sacramento sharing styles that work for ages 30-50.

This past Friday I had the privilege of hosting an Ageless Style segment on Good Day Sacramento, sharing some mixing prints and bold colors that work for women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s. I’ve done a few segments as part of the Ageless Style series, and look forward to my next one in the fall. I’ll totally take your suggestions, too, on what style or trend I should feature. For whatever reason, I’m feeling like shoes or accessories. 😉

For the first time ever, I’m rounding up the looks I shared for you to enjoy! I was able to find all of these amazing items at my local Macy’s store, which means, you can find them there too, or better yet, shop them online. That’s right! I’ve got links to all of the items underneath each model’s look. I love shopping at Macy’s because I can find everything there, and during the summer, it’s been a lifesaver.

Here are the models and what I love about each look.

30s

I love this look on Cherline! It’s perfect for a summer workday or going to brunch with friends. The tie waist pant is so so trendy right now whether they’re up high on your waist (paper bag pants) or low on your hips. The vertical stripe pattern is ultra flattering on all body types. The floral top is a lovely, feminine compliment that. When you are mixing prints, it’s important to make sure that the patterns are bold, yet different styles. Floral and stripes will always be a good combo. Because these pants are a light linen, the bright floral with a blush base works wonderfully.

40’s

It’s hard to believe that Chrisel is in her mid-40s, but her print mixing happens more on the bottom with a bold statement up top. These pants are everything. If you haven’t noticed, the wide leg trend isn’t going anywhere, and these from the Trina Turk x I.N.C. collection are so so fun! You could wear it with a t-shirt and a crisp Converse, or get ready for a night out with the fun patterened sandal. Picking any of the colors that are in the printed pants would work as a bold base. This time, I chose the yellow.

50s

Mix prints without giving it a thought! This dress is the perfect way to do so. Can you tell that I love stripes? 🙂 This DKNY dress is perfect because it has tight stripes and wide vertical stripes. The length is just at the knee which is perfect for a woman who may be trying to more modest but still on trend. We threw in a floral tote bag with a tight pattern so that it wouldn’t detract from the stripes in the dress. A white wedge sets the look off.
