I’m mad about mustard.
I own a pair of mustard trouser pants, but these skinnies up the ante quite a bit. Mustard is such a rich hue for fall and I just love it with reds and greens and other jewel tones.
As with skinny denim and jeggings, it’s all about balance. With a more structured and straight bottom, you’ll want to loosen it up a bit on the top, whether it’s a loose button up, oversized sweater or a blazer for polish. Here, I paired mine with a sleeveless top that ties at the bottom, a statement necklace and the ever-versatile denim jacket.
Took awhile to get the perfect jump, but look at that face. The look of an old cheerleader!
Top: Old Navy
Necklace and Pants: H&M (pants are $14.95 here)
Shoes: Sam & Libby at Target (available here)
Bracelet: Kate Spade New York (surprise sale – join their mailing list)
Purse: Philip Lim for Target
So if you don’t count the accessories, this whole outfit was under $30! Let me start from the top. Literally. I found it on the Old Navy sale rack for $4.97. OK, so, only now has the weather cooled down a bit, but it has been 90+ degrees here in Sacramento for weeks, so I couldn’t leave it behind. It’s a great piece for layering, too. Onto the pants! They are from H&M. $14.95 in a wide assortment of colors. Please believe I will be going back to get more. My advice: If you any kind of curve and/or booty, go a size up, even though they stretch. Shoes. Well, they should’ve been $29.99 but I won a battle at my local Target store because they were labeled $8.98. Gotta honor the advertised price! They take me back to my childhood in a major way. I will be spotted wearing these with tights and a skirt/dress soon. Look for that on the blog.
Have you heard? Tomorrow I’m heading to the NAWBO – Sacramento Valley OWL Awards dinner. I was nominated for a Woman Innovator award. It’s quite the honor to be nominated among such a wonderful group of Sacramento women. We will see what happens tomorrow night. Thank you for your support! I wouldn’t have had the opportunity of being nominated had it not been for all of my fans, friends and family for spreading the TLG love.

Good morning, Kachet! I’ve been away from the blogosphere for a little bit, and now I’m catching up on all your posts I missed. Also, thank you so much for stopping by my blog.
I like the boldness of pairing mustard with black, and as always, you have a gift for unexpected details. Love the bows on your shoes and the tied top 🙂
Hello hello – welcome back! Thank you for your sweet comment! 🙂
