I love Sacramento for many reasons. One obvious reason is because it is where I grew up. I spent most of my days as a young one Downtown, with my grandmother who lived there. Before I started school I spent my entire days with her and after I started school, she would pick me up and I’d get to hang until my mom got off work. Going to her favorite shops on K Street Mall (I’ll never forget The Blouse House), feeding the squirrels in Capitol Park, visiting her friends in neighboring apartment buildings are memories I’ll always have. She lived in Chinatown, which is more of a square and I’m not sure that most Sacramentans have been there. I’ve driven past it for years, but decided it would be the perfect place to do an outfit post. Even after 18 years, the memories started flooding in. I was pointing out people’s apartments and special things about each neighbor. I used to spend time in the square reading under the trees. It was a safe zone for me. Today the vibe isn’t the same. It’s quiet and a little sketchy – a combination of transients and seniors walking through – but it is still beautiful and full of character.
Shirt: Peter Pilotto for Target (still available online)
Pants: Old Navy (on sale online)
Necklace: Nordstrom Rack
Clutch: Hearts.com
Shoes: Rampage via DSW
I really loved how the red floral print on this shirt popped in so many ways. When I was shopping the Peter Pilotto for Target collection, no one had even touched this shirt. It’s a goodie, and the ruching at the bottom gives a slim look. And can you believe these pants are OLD NAVY?! They have pockets and stretch anddd are on sale right now. Get ’em while the gettin’ is good.
HUGE shout out to my friend, Christie of Christie Spencer Photography, who I can proudly announce is TLG’s official photographer. She is amazingly talented. Visit her website and follow her on Facebook!

Sacramento looks like a beautiful place to live – no snow – lol. Is that a phone booth – too funny. I like the colorful top and dookie chain necklace. Happy Hump Day Wednesday.
Yes, an old phone booth! I’m glad that they’ve saved a piece of “history.” And I don’t want to rub it in, but there is a high of 70 today. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
I’ve never been to downtown Sacramento, but I feel like you’ve given me a quick trip! Love the Pilotto for Target top you’re wearing with the Old Navy tuxedo stripe pants (such a big trend this spring)! Your photos look gorge! Congrats to a successful union between you and Christie! She’s very talented!

You are gorgeous. Love how you styled that necklace.
Thanks so much! I thought it was a way to add some edge to a more feminine piece. 🙂
