This post is in partnership with Flat Top Hills Wines. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
They say wine is best enjoyed amongst friends, so why not make a new memory this year by creating a care package for them to enjoy while you catch up virtually? Whether it’s Zoom, Hangouts or FaceTime, making that connection with (a) friend (s) during the season will be treasured more this year than ever before and I’m here to show you how to make the moment extra special with Flat Top Hills Wines.
I was so happy to partner with the brand earlier this year (on this and this) and have been enjoying their wine (and gifting it to friends) ever since! Named after the remote hills with flat summits where the Mondavi family gathered as children, Flat Top Hills sources over half of their grapes from the same land, their family-owned vineyards in Dunnigan Hills in Yolo County. That’s about 40 minutes from where I used to live in California, so it feels like a piece of home, too!
I partnered with Flat Top Hills this year because I felt like the brand matched my brand essence: We believe in celebrating everyday moments and that wine should be approachable and fun. Are you with us? 🙂
Since so many of us can’t be together to celebrate the holidays as usual, wouldn’t it be amazing to have grown-up party favors while we connect virtually? In comes the Holiday Box!
Targeting all of the five senses, the Flat Top Hills Box curates a one-of-a-kind virtual celebration for you and your loved ones.
SMELL
A candle with a holiday scent is the perfect way for your loved ones to warm up their surroundings. But, if you are aware that they have a favorite scent, it would be even more special to include one.
Kick-off your celebration by reciting a poem and have each person read a different line. We chose “A friend is like” for those Friendsgiving and holiday parties this season. You can also create a playlist. Decide between songs that remind you of your loved ones, are go all-in on your expertly curated holiday soundtrack.
No care package would be complete without a bottle of Flat Top Hills! Pair your bottle with a few kinds of cheese if you can, but if not, include a gift card so they can pick some up before the big event!
My recommendations based on this season’s varietals:
There are so many options that you can include in this sense. Cloth napkins to include in their at-home celebrations. Or cozy socks for an upcoming movie marathon. You can’t go wrong!
Everyone’s lovely face on your screen! Until you can see each other in person safely, enjoy the present moment and the connection.
Now once you get all of that together, then it’s time to figure out what kind of vessel you’re going to put it in. Baskets, wooden boxes, and tote bags are all great options. For a rustic feel this holiday, I chose a wooden box. You can find these reasonably priced at craft stores.
If you want to add an extra layer of protection as you transport your care package, consider picking up a WineSkin at the store as well. I always keep a few on hand because you never know!
Get excited for the big moment when everyone is enjoying their goodies at the same time at your virtual soiree. I hope you made a box for yourself because you deserve a holiday treat, too!
Kick-off the festivities with an icebreaker, like the poem included in your box. Or maybe you each sing a lyric from a holiday song. Don’t forget to keep the Flat Top Hills close by so you don’t miss a thing with your people.
Staying on the video for a while and want a break from the holiday jams? Put on my favorite playlist on Spotify, Kitchen Swagger.
