If you’re anything like me, you’ve got a few saved Instagram posts of spaces with lush greens (or maybe it’s Pinterest for you). Guess what? Your fantasy has become a reality by way of Propagate, the cutest little plant shop in Midtown Sacramento. Formerly just a pop-up plant boutique and interior plant design company, Propagate opened its doors in August. Their location is everything! Propagate is located in one of the most mysterious buildings in Sacramento (to me). Back in the day, I used to work above Propagate, and the space had been vacant for years. The windows were blocked by coverings so it was truly a mystery…until now!
The location is right at the convergence of downtown to midtown and if you decide to sit for a while when you’re there, the people watching can be pretty epic.
Propagate started by working with local businesses to elevate the beauty of their space through professional plant installations and monthly maintenance. The shop was cultivated with the community in mind: the “gatherings” mention in the sub-brand represents workshops and events.
I went in with no expectations but determined to leave with a couple of plants. The lighting is tricky as I only get direct sun for a couple of hours a day, and let’s face it, many plants need a lot of light.
Here are some pics of inside the shop! I’m sure it will evolve as time goes on, but I love that we were able to capture the store’s first days!
You gotta follow Propagate on Instagram for all of the latest information on plants, promotions, and events. From yoga to potting classes, there are so many possibilities (and realities) for the space. Follow them now so you don’t miss a thing. They just announced their dinner with Nomad Sacramento on Saturday 10/12. So sign up here to get yo ticket.
