Little Black Dresses for the Holidays

The holiday season is a great excuse to get dressed up and enjoy the company of others. I was so thrilled when Racquel of Racquel always invited me to be part of her little black dress shoot for the holidays! Since starting The Blog Bloc earlier this year, I have met so many wonderful people and built a great rapport with the members, including Racquel so it was even more special when I found that members Britney and Ashley were part of it, too!

I’m always down for a collaborative shoot especially when there is an iconic style theme. For this concept, Racquel decided that every lady should wear their interpretation of a black dress.

Easy! I have so many little black dresses.

But wait, this was tough. I have so many little black dresses.

Why?

Because every lady should have at least one that they feel like a million bucks in. So when I’ve felt that way after trying on or wearing said black dress, I stockpile.

I also have black dresses that I wear based on mood. Is that weird? Well, when it came to choosing my LBD for the shoot, in true Boss Lady fashion, I decided to wear one of my favorite black sheath dresses from Crossroads, and pair with, you guessed it, a blazer… with satin lapels!

If you’re going straight from the office to a holiday gathering, this is my way to stay professional without sacrificing a little bit of elegance. Trade your work tote bag in for a chain bag. I’ve linked my splurge one and a few steals below to elevate your look.

Accessories go a long way, too. I am all for the tassels and baubles right now. I’ve collected several of my go-to black jewelry pieces over the years, but here are some that may be making their way into my wardrobe sooner than later (and maybe yours too).
