A pencil skirt is one of those wardrobe staples that you keep in your closet. It’s an item that you can wear to work, to run your weekend errands (I love a pencil skirt and sneakers or espadrilles) and it’s always fun to mix things up with a print.
This floral print is from Target’s Who What Wear collection. I’ve worn many pieces from this line on the blog and IRL, and it’s because each piece is so versatile, well made, and affordable. This pencil skirt is no longer available, but the beauty of the Who What Wear line is they’ve refreshed the pencil skirt every season since the launch last spring! There are some really fun prints right now (I’ve linked a few below) so you can totally recreate this look with a fun crewneck sweatshirt.
Ruffles not your thing? They aren’t really mine either, but this sweatshirt changed the game. As I’ve gained some weight, I don’t like to draw a lot of attention to certain areas, but the way these ruffles skim my chest with one single layer, it adds a dainty detail without the extra bulk. I picked it up from Topshop when I was in NYC for Fashion week and gasped when I saw it on the rack. It was so so cute and while I’ve worn it to run errands in my stretchy pants (as I like to call them), I really like it with a skirt! If I haven’t made you a ruffle believer, that’s totally fine. Try a crewneck sweatshirt with a fun saying or graphic. You’ll get the same effect!
