Hey ya’ll! Ruthie and I shared the feeling of wanting to get the Sacramento bloggers in the fashion and lifestyle space together for a long time. What better occasion than for a Galentine’s celebration? Once she nailed down the theme, we locked down a place, Hock Farm Craft & Provisions, and rallied up the troops. I’d like to introduce you to some of my blogger babes!
Meet these fine Sacramento Bloggers! From L to R: Meghan, Ruthie, Haley, Melinda, Libier, Katie, Kristina, Marie and me.
Katie and I go waaaay back (maybe you caught our years in the making joint YouTube video), and I recently collaborated with Libier for her favorite red lipstick roundup. It’s so great to be around amazing ladies that you can work with and support. Nothing beats it.
We all come from different walks of life and professional backgrounds, but it is our drive to create great content that unites us, the creative buzz inside that hums and never really stops. It’s not enough to share a pretty picture. Each of these ladies takes the time to share something unique about themselves with every interaction. This vulnerability makes them more gorgeous than the clothes they wear and it’s an honor to know them.
As a frequent diner of Hock Farm, I must say having our gathering there was the perfect match. I love the simplicity of the design and its nod to our region with its ever changing farm-to-fork menu.
Hock Farm’s open yet cozy layout allowed for great interaction amongst our group. We had the privilege of sampling some of their special Valentine’s Day cocktails and desserts a part of their larger V-Day menu.
Sticky Toffee Pudding is now my new thing, but I wasn’t too shy to turn away from a Chocolate Cremeux. The Bird and The Bee with gin is a must-try. Think of it as a lemon drop’s classier cousin. The Old Fashioned Banana Cocktail was dessert in a glass, literally the most decadent without being overly sweet. I even made a couple of non-whiskey drinkers believers after I insisted they try a sip! What’s more is that the banana infused bourbon is made in house. The process is intensive, but it is all worth it in the end. That flavor!
Gotta love a glass of Schramsburg to kick off the evening.
Cheers!
The Dark Chocolate Cremeux, available exclusively for Hock Farm’s Valentine’s Day menu.
Groups of Sacramento bloggers got together on a regular to collaborate on posts and to let their hair down during girl’s nights regularly when I started blogging back in the day (gosh, was it that long ago). Times have changed, lives have progressed, blogs have come and gone, but I terribly miss the community we once had. It’s my mission to change that in the next few weeks with a new project that I’m launching. Stay tuned for more info about that.
