I hope your week is off to a great start. Sure, I’m sporting this floral dress and I’m going to share all about that, but yesterday I shared this post on Instagram about chill weekends and I really wanted to share more on the blog about what that meant, and why they are so important.
Have you ever looked at your calendar and wondered, “Oh my, how am I going to get through this week?”
You may have added 1 or 2 more appointments that take up time that you set out for your self-care, but you promise yourself you’re going to make it up. But, you don’t make it up, and you realize you have done this for a few weeks stacked on one other. You’ve taken a trip, but it’s been specifically as media, so technically you weren’t “off.” Yeah, that’s what happened to me, and I’m not trying to throw a pity party, but I am acknowledging ways that help me press the reset button after a flurry of work and commitments in the hopes that it helps you.
Meaning, simply stop doing what you’re doing so you at least have the next 24 hours to just be.
Recharging looks differently for everyone. For some, getting outdoors is the secret to resetting. For others, it’s reading a stack of books. For me, it’s a combination of sitting doing nothing, enjoying silence, and watching TV with a nap “haze.” The next phase of recharge is going for at least a 30-minute drive (not city) with an iced drink. I know, so specific, right? But, it’s just what I need! Once you know your secret formula to get you back to you, it makes the process so much easier.
My friend Davon “The Bubbleista” started a new series that I look forward to every Monday. It’s called No More Monday Mournings. Maybe you call them the Sunday Scaries, or maybe you just know it as that dread feeling as the weekend is winding down. Davon is flipping the script on that and giving us all tools to be better. Check out her tips for the week and follow (and use) the hashtag #NoMoreMondayMournings to stay motivated as you tackle your crazy calendar!

On that note, let’s move on from mourning what we didn’t do and focus on what we are going to do! Let’s kick up our heels and make this a good week!
You’ll see I’m wearing a floral dress, so I had to link up with some other bloggers sporting the same trend, too!
